Creating a new analysis#
- Log into QuickSight
- Click on “New analysis”. You will see all data sets that you own or are made available to you by the administrators. You can start analyzing this data by clicking on a dataset and by then clicking on “New analysis”.
Creating a new dataset#
Administrators can give you access to “data sources” and/or “ data sets”. Data sources represent databases and storages as a whole, while a “data set” represents a subsample or view of a data source. Depending on what permissions an administrator has given you, you can create new datasets from existing data sources.
- Log into QuickSight
- Click on “New Data Set”
-
You will see two lists, “From New Data Sources” and “From Existing Data Sources”. “From New Data Sources” is only supported for “Upload a file”. Creation of all other new Data Sources can only be done by ECDataPlatform administrators
-
You can create new datasets from all existing data sources. For example, if a MySQL database data source was configured for you, you can create new data sets of different tables in this MySQL database.
- Click on one of your existing data sources to create a new data set.
